The AL!VE mobile application ("AL!VE" or the "App") is operated by Sherill Industries ("we," "us," or "our"), the data controller for purposes of this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the App. If you disagree with its terms, please discontinue use of the App immediately.
We collect information you provide directly including your name, email, phone number, date of birth, username, and profile photo. We also collect your city and state at registration to show you relevant local events and provide hosts with anonymized audience location insights. We do not collect or store your precise street address.
For host accounts, we also collect event details, flyers, videos, and social media handles. Payment information is processed securely by Stripe (for host subscriptions billed on our website) and by Apple (for in-app purchases such as boosts, featured placements, and upload packs). We do not store full payment card details.
We automatically collect device information, log data, location data (when you grant permission), usage data, and push notification tokens.
To keep AL!VE safe and on-policy, event flyers uploaded by hosts are sent to a third-party AI service (Anthropic's Claude API) for automated content moderation review. The image and a short text description (event title, category, keywords) are transmitted to Anthropic for the sole purpose of classifying the content (e.g., flagging prohibited material, age-restricted content, or policy violations). Anthropic does not use this data to train its models and does not retain it long-term per its Commercial Terms. We do not send your name, email, phone, date of birth, or other personal identifiers to the AI service — only the flyer image and event metadata you've already chosen to make public.
We share information with trusted service providers strictly to operate the App. These include:
We may disclose information if required by law. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.
Active account data is retained while your account is active. Saved events are automatically removed 30 days after the event ends.
You may delete your account at any time directly from within the App (Profile → Settings → Delete Account) or by contacting support@joinalive.app. Account deletion is permanent and removes your profile, events you created, and associated personal data. Some records may be retained to comply with legal, tax, or fraud-prevention obligations as required by law.
We collect your city and state at sign-up to personalize your event feed and provide hosts with anonymized audience insights. This is city-level data only — we do not collect your street address.
AL!VE also requests device location access to show nearby events in real time. You can disable GPS location at any time through your device settings without affecting your account.
When you tap "Get a Ride" on an event page, AL!VE opens the Uber or Lyft app on your device with the event's destination pre-filled in the URL. We do not share your personal information with these services — only the event's publicly listed address. Once you're inside the Uber or Lyft app, your interaction is governed by their respective privacy policies, not ours.
The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. Certain events are restricted to users 18 and older based on date of birth provided at registration.
We implement commercially reasonable security measures including encrypted data transmission and Firebase security rules. No method of transmission is 100% secure.
You may update your account information at any time. California residents have rights under CCPA. European users have rights under GDPR. To exercise any rights, contact support@joinalive.app.
